Our best lightning cables yet
After a year and a half hiatus, our lightning cables are finally in stock and selling. Its been a long road to get here. Our new iPhone and Micro USB cables are completely redesigned from the ground up. We started with what our customers loved, the colorful paracord nylon braiding, and we added apple certified components, durable aluminum housings, and a more sophisticated inner cabling. This resulted in a cable that not only looks gorgeous, but is more durable, longer lasting, and actually charges your devices faster.
We went through 3 different manufacturing partners before we finally completed production. The first one was unable to execute our design. The second one was completely capable and was doing a fine job right up until the point that Apple pulled their licensing. That one was devastating. We were just 2 weeks away from production when they told us they were no longer an Apple Certified manufacturer. We were lucky enough to find a partner who graciously took over the project midway through and was able to finish production. It was kind of a nightmare, but we persevered nonetheless. Hey, if this was easy, everyone would be doing it, right? But now we have a fantastic stable partner and the road ahead is looking great.
David did an amazing job overseeing production and corralling vendors. It took two different trips to China, but he got the job done! Unfortunately there's no how-to manual for doing this sort of thing and you just have to figure it out as you go a long. But I guess that's true for most business endeavors.
If I had known from the beginning all of the roadblocks and hurdles we've have to overcome to get to this point, would I have even started this company? Without a doubt. Its been one of the best experiences of my life. I love talking to and getting feedback from our customers, and I enjoy the challenge.
